Luigi is Mario's brother and travel companion on the trip to Gearonia to assist with the fight against the Umbral Deluge. For most of the adventure, Luigi travels separate from Mario in an effort to cover more ground, uncovering clues and helping citizens along the way. However, there are some scenarios where the brothers team up to face a challenge that can't be conquered alone.
Following the defeat of the Urchin Amalgamation in Sodden Stronghold, Luigi is kidnapped by the Umbral Deluge and swept deep into Valley's End. A race then begins to rescue him before the full effects of the Deluge take hold.
Luigi can be seen floating in the background throughout Mario's battle with the Rogue Sapling. He appears completely unresponsive, with a beam of Deluge energy siphoning out of him and directly into the Sapling's core. Upon the Sapling's defeat, this tether breaks, sending Luigi's body plummeting to the ground. Luckily, Sagetoad catches him with a spell shortly before impact.
Personality
Luigi possesses quite a fearful personality. He can be described as clumsy, timid, and cautious, but will always overcome his fears and rise to the occasion when necessary. Perhaps because of this, Luigi has immense respect for his brother, always looking up to him for strong will and fearless attitude. This likely inspries Luigi to overcome his fears in times of need.
Speech Patterns
Luigi's speech is largely casual in nature. Though, in certain situations, he can come across as timid or awkward. Most notably, he tends to stutter quite badly when frightened or nervous.
