Sagetoad is the appointed protector of Spiritsong Forest and leader of those living in Spinach Settlement. He serves as a guide to Mario and the others throughout their journey to quell the Umbral Deluge. Trained at an esteemed college in the Gearonia Capitol, the old Toad is highly skilled in various forms of magic.
Shortly before the events of the adventure, a brush with the Deluge left Sagetoad temporarily weakened, making it nearly impossible to cast any powerful magical spells. Simple spells are still possible, but taxing on his body and psyche until he fully recovers.
Personality
Sagetoad embodies the stereotypical "elder sorcerer" persona. He is wise, married to tradition, and wholly dedicated to the duties bestowed unto him. His teachings are his guiding light, and he believes they are the foundation to overcoming any problem he may face.
Despite his traditional teachings, Sagetoad keeps an open mind. He understands the value of the evolving viewpoints of the next generation, and will never prevent someone from voicing their perspective. He only asks for patience, mutual respect, and empathy in return.
Speech Patterns
Nothing is particularly unique about Sagetoad's speech compared to other Toads in the forest, but due to his extensive education, his vocabulary is far broader and he speaks in a formal tone.
